There Is A National Police Chief On The Police Reform Committee, Commission III Of The DPR: If It's All External, It's Not Good Too

JAKARTA - Member of Commission III of the House of Representatives, Rudianto Lallo, has no problem with the entry of National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo in the structure of the National Police Reform Acceleration Commission which has been inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto. According to him, the National Police Chief in the team formed by the President will not cause a conflict of interest.

"If I look at it, my language is, the people appointed by the president are people who have been in the government for a long time. Is it the former Minister of Law, Chairman of Kompolnas, Mr. Mahfud, it is true that the Chairman of Kompolnas Pak Mahfud, then the former Chief of Police, that's why I mentioned old people. So when this was appointed, I thought it was more about improving relations, maybe internal relations with externalities," said Lallo at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, November 13.

According to him, the appointment of 10 figures who came from external and internal to the National Police showed collaboration and synergy to accelerate Polri reform.

"So compared to external people, everything is not good either. Maybe the desire is like that. And the rest of them sit down together to formulate what policies will be taken to improve it at the Police," said Lallo.

Lallo assessed that the entry of the National Police Chief, who has also formed the Police Transformation Team, will not interfere with the work of the Commission formed by the President. Most importantly, he said, the National Police Chief could also provide recommendations that would make the National Police institution better in the future.

"Kalau saya enggak melihat orang per orang ya, yang paling penting apa output, apa hasil dari kehadiran lembaga ini. Kehadiran lembaga ini kan mau menerjemahkan apa yang menjadi keinginan presiden. Di sisi mana yang mau diperbaiki, di sisi mana kekurangannya. Kan begitu. Nah tugas mereka lah ini yang memformumsi itu," kata Lallo.

Previously, the Head of the Police Reform Acceleration Commission, Jimly Asshiddiqie, emphasized that his party would work together with the Reform Transformation Team that works within the Police.

Jimly said that the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo would be a connecting bridge for the two teams. He also said the routine meeting held by his party would always invite the Head of the Police Reform Transformation Team, Komjen Chryshnanda Dwilaksana.

"Yes, one of them is the benefits. So, of course, not only the Chief of Police as a member of the official team, we have also heard from the progress reports that have been there all this time in the internal and including we have decided earlier, we always invite the head of the internal reform team if there is a Kamisan meeting," Jimly told reporters, Monday, November 10.

Jimly explained that the synergy was needed so that the commission could see thoroughly about the Bhayangkara Corps. According to him, there is certain information needed from the internal police.

"So that internally we also have information that we sometimes need so that we don't see the Police from outside, right. Sometimes people from outside see A, when actually B. So, this commission will work in synergy, yes, with commissions, committees that already exist internally," he said.
