JAKARTA - Member of the PKS faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Achmad Yani, highlighted the plan of the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, to normalize the Krukut River flow in the Kebayoran Baru area, South Jakarta.

Yani revealed that a number of residents around the riverbanks, especially in the Pela Mampang area, began to feel restless after hearing the plan. The residents directly conveyed the restlessness to him during a recess visit.

"Yesterday I was present at the recess in RW 11, then also in RW 5 Pela Mampang Village. Those who live on the edge of the Krukut River expressed their anxiety and anxiety over the Governor's plan," said Yani, Thursday, November 13.

According to Yani, residents are worried that the normalization project will have a direct impact on their residence. He said that until now there has been no official socialization from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government regarding the plan.

Yani asked the DKI Provincial Government to immediately go to the field to provide an explanation and ensure that the rights of the affected residents are fulfilled properly.

"Messages from residents, please do socialization and inform the public openly," he said.

Furthermore, Yani conveyed a request from residents so that the government would not only provide compensation, but instead compensation for land affected by the normalization project.

"If they are later subject to land acquisition due to the normalization needs of the 1.3 kilometer Krukut River, they hope to get compensation for profit, not compensation," he said.

In addition, Yani also encourages the DKI Provincial Government to prepare humane relocation solutions, such as providing flats for affected residents.

"This also needs to be the governor's attention so that the affected residents can buy houses elsewhere, or prepare flats for them," he added.

It is known, on Friday, November 7, Governor Pramono Anung directly observed the condition of Krukut River in Petogogan Village, Kebayoran Baru. During the review, he found that the flow of rivers had been narrowed so that it often caused flooding in the South Jakarta area, especially in the Kemang area and its surroundings.

"Because I live not far from here, I know very well how the impact will be. Today I saw firsthand one of the main causes of flooding, because the river flow was no longer normal," said Pramono.

According to Pramono, many buildings stand on river bodies, thus hampering the flow of water during heavy rains. Therefore, the DKI Provincial Government will normalize 1.3 kilometers to restore the function of the river.

"If normalization is not carried out, efforts such as dredging and excavation will not be sufficient. As a result, if there are floods here, the Kemang Village area, Kem Chicks, and surrounding areas will definitely be affected," he said.

Rencana normalisasi Kali Krukut akan dimulai pada tahun 2026. Pada tahap awal, Pemprov DKI akan menetapkan lokasi (penlok) lahan yang akan dibebaskan. Total lahan yang dibutuhkan mencapai 1,52 hektare, meliputi 65 bidang tanah.

The plan for the normalization of Krukut River will begin in 2026. In the initial stage, the DKI Provincial Government will determine the location (penlok) of the land to be acquired. The total required land reaches 1.52 hectares, covering 65 plots of land.

The handling of the Krukut River will be carried out in conjunction with the normalization of the Mampang River which is located behind the Satria Mandala Museum. The two rivers are the main focus in flood control efforts in South Jakarta.
