Samarinda Police Reveals 7.1 Kg Shabu Dealer From Parepare Prison

The Samarinda Police revealed a network of 7.1 kilograms of methamphetamine drug dealers, which were controlled by two inmates from the Parepare Correctional Institution (Lapas), South Sulawesi.

Samarinda Police Chief Kombes Hendri Umar explained that this case was the most significant of the 17 drug cases he handled in October.

"This network is controlled by two inmates with the initials H and A, who are currently still witnesses," said Hendri Umar as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 11.

These two inmates, continued Hendri, instructed a man with the initials AR to take 10 kg of crystal methamphetamine at a guest house in Samarinda.

However, because AR was sick, the task was delegated to two other people, namely AL and E, then AL asked his colleague in Samarinda, ER, to take the methamphetamine on October 26.

The next day, AL and E arrived in Samarinda, met ER, then took the methamphetamine to the house of a woman with the initials N. At N's house, the crystal methamphetamine was divided into two parts: 7 kg handed over to N, while 3 kg was returned to the guest house for another courier.

The Narcotics Satresnal team, which has monitored the movement of the suspects, immediately took action. When N tried to escape by bringing 6 kg of crystal methamphetamine to his girlfriend's house with the initials B in the Lambung Mangkurat area, the police were able to thwart the attempt and arrest N.

In a separate arrest, the opsnal team also arrested the Navy, ER, and AR on Jalan DI Panjaitan.

His party arrested four suspects, namely AL, a resident of Makassar, who was pregnant. ER, a resident of Samarinda, a colleague of the Navy. AR, a resident of Makassar, linked the Parepare Prison network. N, a resident of Samarinda, a store of 6 kg of crystal methamphetamine. With this arrest, the total confiscated evidence reached 7.1 kg of crystal methamphetamine.

During October 2025, the Narcotics Unit of the Samarinda Police revealed 17 drug cases with a total of 25 suspects (21 men and 4 women).
