Case Of Corruption In Procurement Of East Lombok Education And Culture Book Rises Investigation

JAKARTA - The East Lombok District Attorney (Kejari) in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), stated that it had raised the status of handling cases of alleged corruption in book procurement at the East Lombok Regency Education and Culture Office (Dikbud) to the investigation stage.

Head of the Intelligence Section of the East Lombok Kejari, Ugik Ramantyo, confirmed that there was an increase in the status of handling the case.

"Yes, that's right. Now it's an investigation," he said when contacted in Mataram, Tuesday, was confiscated by Antara.

The Prosecutor's Office has raised the status of handling to the investigation stage based on the results of the case title by finding indications of criminal events from periodic procurement from the 2021 to 2025 fiscal years.

A new step at this stage of investigation is that the prosecutor's office pursues the completeness of evidence for the emergence of criminal events in the procurement.

The collection of evidence is pursued through a series of examinations of witnesses and related documents.

Regarding the parties included in the examination list, Ugik admitted that he had not received complete information from investigators.

He only ensured that the parties who were previously asked for clarification at the investigation stage were now included in the investigator's examination list.

"For the details, whoever is examined, that will be later," he said.

During the investigation stage, it was noted that the prosecutor's office issued a summons to the Head of the East Lombok Dikbud Service Number: B-2997/N.2.12/Fd.1/08/2025 dated August 8, 2025.

Including the summons of the head of the school principal (KKKS) for each sub-district in East Lombok Regency.

In the summons, the prosecutor's office scheduled a request for information against 21 KKKS heads for each sub-district in East Lombok Regency.

In the letter, the prosecutor's office also included information regarding the summons related to the investigation of alleged corruption in the procurement of educational books in each elementary school level education unit in East Lombok Regency sourced from the State Budget for the 2021 to 2025 fiscal year.
