Roy Suryo Admits He Is Ready To Complete Police Examination As A Suspect In The Jokowi Certificate Case Thursday, November 13

JAKARTA - Telematics expert Roy Suryo will fulfill the summons of the Polda Metro Jaya regarding the case of alleged fake diploma of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi). The former Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) will be present accompanied by a team of attorneys, Thursday 13 November

"God willing, I will be present with the Legal Team," said Roy Suryo when confirmed Monday, November 10.

Roy admitted that he did not have special preparations for the police investigation. He stated that he would face this legal process casually.

"There is no need for any special preparations, just 'smile'," said Roy.

According to him, the reason for being relaxed is because he feels that this summons is related to scientific research that he does in his capacity as a telematic observer.

"Because as Telematic Observers who have intellectual rights to conduct Scientific Research on Public Documents (Jokowi's certificate) which should be researched," he explained.

The research has also been written in a book, so that the summons to Polda Metro Jaya is not a problem for him.

"Moreover, it has been stated in the book 'Jokowi's White Paper'. I still respect the call first," he continued.

Furthermore, Roy asked all parties to follow the ongoing legal process.

He also emphasized that his status as a suspect at this time does not necessarily continue to the defendant stage, let alone the convict.

Roy then compared the legal process he faced with other cases that had permanent legal force (inkracht) at Silfester Matutina.

"While there are fugitives in Indonesia with 'victims' status and 6 (six) years of inkracht, there are still those who are free to walk without respect for the law until now with the initials 'SM' (Silfester Matutina)," continued Roy.

Roy also mentioned the case involving Silfester Matutina, where Jusuf Kalla (JK) became a victim and finally reported back.

According to him, JK shows the nature of statesmanship because it only uses articles of defamation in the Criminal Code.

"In the case where the convict Silfester Matutina was convicted, Mr. JK as a victim and the Reporting Party really had statesmanship properties," he said.

He considered that JK was wise enough not to use articles in the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (ITE) to criminalize the people.

"Because they only use Article 310/311 of the Criminal Code, they do not smuggle ITE articles whose aim is to criminalize the criminalization of the people like Jokowi," he concluded.
