2,249 Uninhabitable Citizen's Houses In Karawang Start Construction

KARAWANG - The Karawang Regency Government, West Java built 2,249 uninhabitable housing units this year, to help the community to occupy a habitable place to live.

Head of the Public Housing and Residential Area Office of Karawang Asep Hazar, quoted by Antara, Monday, November 10, said that the program to repair uninhabitable houses was rolled out with the aim of improving people's welfare.

In general, this program is an effort by local governments to overcome poverty.

In accordance with the target of the Karawang RPJMD for 2025-2030, he said, the housing development program for uninhabitables is one of several priority programs for the Karawang Regency Government, which is technically carried out by the PRKP Service.

It is stated that the target for the repair program or construction of uninhabitable houses in the next five years is actually 12,500 units.

This year, a budget of around Rp. 105 billion has been prepared to build 2,249 uninhabitable housing units.

Some of the submissions came from the main ideas of the Karawang DPRD as many as 1,234 units, from Musrenbang as many as 103 units, and the remaining 912 submissions from each village.

He said that the requirements for applying for an uninhabitable housing program include having an Identity Card (KTP) and a Karawang Family Card (KK), having certified land assets or other proof of ownership, on which there are buildings to be built, photos to build and certificates of incapacity from the village government.

According to him, from 2021 to 2024 the 8,074 residential uninhabitable housing program has been realized. Thousands of houses have been built by the Karawang Regency Government through the Karawang PRKP Service.
