Seorang Hansip Ditempi Saat Mencoba Gagalkan Aksi Curanmor Di Cakung

JAKARTA - A hansip died after trying to thwart the theft of a motorcycle (curanmor) on Jalan Panjang, Cakung, East Jakarta, Saturday, November 8 in the morning. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach.

Cakung Police Chief Kompol Widodo Saputro explained that the victim named Atim Suhara (42) and two of his colleagues with the initials T (48) and R (58), were on duty at night.

They suspect someone's movements through CCTV camera monitoring and see two unknown people stealing an automatic motorbike.

"The victim together with T and R went straight to the location using a motorbike driven by the victim, while T and R were riding together," Widodo said in his statement, Saturday, November 8, 2025.

Without thinking, Atim hit the motorbike he was driving at the perpetrator. The two of them got into a fight before the perpetrator took out a firearm.

Instead of running away, the perpetrator fired firearms twice. One of the bullets hit the victim's left abdomen until he fell down," he said.

Seeing his partner lying down, two witnesses then ran while screaming for help from residents.

"The results of the initial examination showed that the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the left abdomen. T and R then secured themselves and asked residents for help," continued Widodo.

Meanwhile, the Head of Criminal Investigation at the East Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Dicky Fertoffan, confirmed that the victim had been rushed to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, but his life could not be saved.

"Yes, the victim died," said Dicky. He added that his party is currently conducting an investigation and pursuing the perpetrator. "The perpetrator is still being chased, still investigating," he said.*
