JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Population and Family Development/Deputy Head of BKKBN Ratu Ayu Isyana Bagoes Oka emphasized the importance of food safety in the Free Nutrition Food Program (MBG).
The statement was made by Deputy Minister Isyana while reviewing the implementation of the MBG Program at the Subagan Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG), Karangasem Regency, Bali, on Thursday 6 November.
Isyana in an official statement in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Saturday, November 8, emphasized that the quality and cleanliness of food must be maintained every day, not only during visits.
"The MBG program is a very noble program. The goal is for mothers and children to get the best nutrition. Therefore, technical details in the field must be considered properly from the storage process, kitchen cleanliness, to food distribution," he said.
He also reminded the importance of coordination between agencies so that SPPG service standards continue to increase. According to him, Karangasem Regency already has a good system, but it still needs improvement to ensure quality and hygiene.
"We want the quality of intake to continue to increase, but remain safe and fit the nutritional needs," said Isyana.
He also had a direct dialogue with the beneficiaries. One of them is Kadek Sri (23 years old), a young mother of twins Wayan and Putu who is only a month old. Since pregnancy, she has received nutritional package assistance from the MBG program.
"Thankfully, my twin baby weighs good. The food is very helpful," said Kadek.

The food is delicious and nutritious, it is enough to ease the burden on the family. Our two children also get MBG at school, hopefully the program will continue," he said.
Through fulfilling nutrition in the First 1,000 Days of Life (HPK) or the age of 0-2 years, the MBG Program is expected to reduce stunting rates while strengthening the quality of human resources towards Indonesia Gold 2045.
