2 Battery Thief Gangs 8 Communication Towers In Gorontalo And North Sulawesi Arrested

JAKARTA - The Mobile Investigation Team (Resmob) from the General Criminal Directorate (Ditkrimum) of the Gorontalo Police arrested a group of cross-provincial communication tower battery thieves.

Director of General Criminal Investigation (Dirkrimum) of the Gorontalo Police, Kombes Pol. Ade Permana said that in that case his party arrested two men with the initials FM and DP as the main perpetrators of theft, and IB as custodians on October 23.

"The two people we arrested were FM and DP, acting in eight crime scenes (TKP), of which five locations are in the Gorontalo Province, and the other three are in North Sulawesi Province (Sulut)," said Kombes Pol. Ade in Gorontalo, Thursday, confiscated by Antara.

Based on the report, the team then carried out a series of investigations until they managed to pocket one of the perpetrators, from the identification results, it was indicated that the perpetrator was a person who had worked and was dismissed from the company.

After pocketing the identity and location of the perpetrators, the team then moved to North Sulawesi and coordinated with the Resmob Team in the area.

After the team arrived in the North Sulawesi region, they then managed to catch one perpetrator and develop to another.

After being interrogated, the two admitted their actions and said that the stolen goods were sold to other people who were strongly suspected of being collectors.

In addition to the three people involved in the case, the Resmob Team also secured a number of evidences in the form of 22 tower batteries, and equipment used by the perpetrators to carry out their actions.

"As for the article that we will suspect the perpetrators, namely Article 363 paragraph one of the Criminal Code (KUHP) subsidiary Article 362 of the Criminal Code. We have now named three suspects and detained them, but there may still be other suspects," he concluded.
