Acting Governor Of Riau Denies Being A Witness In The Reporting Of The Abdul Wahid Corruption Case

JAKARTA - Riau Governor SF Hariyanto denied that he was being questioned and was even said to be a reporting witness related to the alleged corruption case related to extortion that dragged the previous governor Abdul Wahid who was handled by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

SF Hariyanto, who was previously the Deputy Governor of Riau and is currently appointed by the minister of interior as Acting Governor of Riau, admitted that he was confused by the allegations. For this reason, he emphasized that he did not know about the case even though he knew when Abdul Wahid was arrested.

"I swear, what is the reporting witness? It was all my subordinates there, can I put everyone in prison. I don't know, I don't have any reports, so I say it's slander," he said in Pekanbaru, Thursday, confiscated by Antara.

He admitted that he was aware of Abdul Wahid's arrest because he was indeed with the person concerned.

"Indeed, at that time, coincidentally, I was with Abdul Wahid and Siak Regent Afni Zulkifli sitting together at the cafe where Abdul Wahid was arrested, but I only knew that there were people outside and after that I immediately went home," he said.

"We were having coffee and then there were a lot of guests outside, so the Deputy Governor really knew we were in the back cafe. There was the Regent of Siak, I saw that it was already crowded. So if I know, I know, after that I immediately went home, prayed, and I don't know what happened again," he said.

"I was with the governor at that time having coffee with the goods and Mrs. Regent of Siak and Faisal, the four of them had coffee, they knew they were caught. If you know that, I won't go there. After I'm busy going home, the goods come there, I run away too. I'll be transported too," he added.

However, he hopes that the governor will be facilitated, eased the burden. He also ensured that the wheels of government and public services continued.

"I have it, the regional secretary, assistants II and III, all OPDs are ready, none of them are paralyzed and do not work," he said.
