Prabowo Plans To Build A Winning Class Community Integration School

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto plans to build schools that are integrated from elementary to high school levels aimed at students from middle class groups or those who fall into the decile category 3 to 6 desil.

Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Pratikno conveyed that his ministry was assigned to create a concept regarding the integration school.

"We were ordered to think more deeply, maybe some kind of integrated school in each sub-district, there is an elementary school, there is a junior high school, there is a high school with complete facilities, laboratory facilities, sports, workshops, yes for vocational, and so on. So it's not just about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, but the President added that there arearts and sports," said Pratikno during a press conference after attending a limited meeting chaired by President Prabowo at the Presidential Palace. Pratikno explained that to produce excellent students in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), the government has launched the Garuda School, while to ensure equitable education for children from families with very poor (desil 1) and poor (desil 2) categories, there is the People's School.

"This requires a more in-depth study, elaborated by the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education," said Pratikno.

Pratikno explained that the integration schools that will be formed by the government do not have to be new schools, because there is an option to convert existing public schools. The move was carried out when it formed the Garuda School.

"At Garuda School, not everything is new. Some of it is a transformation of schoolexisting. Likewise with schools of integration, but it is still too early (to be discussed, ed.), because we have also just received an assignment to think about this," continued the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture.
