Mensos Risma Awaits Direction Of The Ministry Of Finance Related To The Extension Of Bansos Cash Rp300 Thousand

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Social Affairs is still awaiting direction from the Ministry of Finance regarding cash social assistance (BST) of Rp300,000 which is planned to be extended until June 2021.

Social Minister Tri Rismaharini stated that until now he had not received official direction on the distribution of BST to be extended.

"We have not received officially from the Ministry of Finance about it," Risma was quoted as saying by Antara on Thursday, May 20.

Risma claimed to have not been able to answer many journalists' statements about the plan to distribute cash bansos as temporary assistance for beneficiaries affected by the pandemic.

"Later if we have received the official, we will tell you," he said.

The previous distribution of BST lasted for four months in 2021, and ended at the end of April, citing the situation of the COVID pandemic in Indonesia has moved to a microscale.

Cash Social Assistance (BST) has become an important instrument of restoring the economy in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Once stopped, the BST receiver is diverted with other assistance.

In advance, the government will extend the provision of cash social assistance (BST) for two months or until June 2021.

Expert Staff of the Minister of Finance for State Expenditure, Kunta Wibawa Dasa Nugraha said the extension following the realization of distribution at the beginning of the year was close to 100 percent.

The plan to provide BST is also aimed at encouraging national economic growth which is currently heading for a positive zone.
