JAKARTA - The Malang Police Department dismantled the grave of one of malang's residents, Siti Chotimah, at sukorejo public cemetery, Kuto Bedah, Blimbing subdistrict, Malang City, East Java, Thursday, May 20.

Malang Police Chief AKBP Hendri Umar said that the demolition of the grave of the victim who had previously been found dead in the river at Sengguruh Dam, Malang Regency on March 20, 2021, after several family members requested the implementation of autopsies.

"There are some (people) from outside the core family who feel the need to perform an autopsy. After several meetings, agreed to carry out the demolition of the tomb for autopsy," said Hendri, when confirmed in Malang Regency, East Java reported by Antara.

Hendri explained, previously, the victim was found dead from falling into the river and dragged to sengguruh dam. At that time, Malang Police had made legal efforts by examining a number of witnesses and conducting investigations.

Then, hendri continued, the family agreed that the case was purely an accident that resulted in the death toll. At that time, the core family had made an affidavit not to be willing to perform an autopsy.

The victim's core family has accepted sincerely then chose to bury the body in malang area. Recently, however, the families of the other victims have been dissatisfied with the decision.

Hendri added that forensic doctors are still investigating the condition of the victim's body. However, based on the initial information, it was stated that the victim had an accident before he died.

"So there is no nature of persecution or that leads to murder. So the wounds found on the victim's body were initially wounds on the temples of the eyes. That's when the victim fell," Hendri said.

As a result of falling and being hit, the victim was unconscious, until he died. In addition, from the results of the autopsy, other injuries were found on the victim, such as scratched wounds.

"It can be concluded because it was hit by a rock, or other object when the victim drifted. We are still awaiting the results of forensic doctors, however, for initial information does not lead to mistreatment, or murder," Hendri said.
