Pramono: Posbankum Expands Access To Justice For Jakarta Residents

JAKARTA - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung emphasized that the establishment of 267 Legal Aid Posts (Posbankum) in all urban villages in Jakarta is an important complement to public service infrastructure in the capital.

This was conveyed by Pramono in the inauguration of the 100 percent achievement of Legal Aid Posts (Posbankum) in all urban villages in Jakarta Province

"Posbankum totaling 267 will exist in each kelurahan, and it complements all existing infrastructure in Jakarta," he said in a written statement quoted on Saturday, November 1.

Pramono said that the existence of the Posbankum ensures that all levels of society now have access to legal protection without any cost constraints.

"All people of Jakarta can now obtain legal protection without any cost constraints," he said.

It is known that Posbankum is a place for people to obtain legal consultation services, non-litigation advocacy, mediation by Paralegal and Lurah as peacekeepers, as well as advocate referrals, both pro- bono and through the Legal Aid Organization (OBH).

The presence of Posbankum expands access to justice, increases legal awareness, and encourages peaceful dispute resolution at the grassroots level.

With 267 Posbankum in Jakarta, the number now reaches 57,968 units or 69.05 percent of the total 83,953 villages and sub-districts in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Law, Supratman Andi Agtas, emphasized the importance of providing justice that is easily accessible to the public.

"In the midst of the hustle and bustle of metropolitan cities that never sleep, people not only need legal certainty, but also access to justice that is fast, easy, and close," he said.

According to him, not all legal issues have to end in court because the litigation process often requires a lot of money and time.

"Completion through mediation at the village level can be a more efficient and just alternative," he continued.

According to him, the presence of the Legal Aid Post (Posbankum) is a real solution in realizing substantive justice for the community. Our goal is to present a law that really provides a sense of justice, especially for the community at the lowest level," he said.

Supratman explained that the formation of Posbankum was part of the government's efforts to realize President Prabowo Subianto's big vision as stated in Asta Cita, namely presenting the law as a guarantee of justice for all Indonesian people.

"Mr. President always emphasizes that law is a guarantee of justice. Justice is not only a right, but also the demands of every citizen," he added.

He also highlighted the important role of Paralegal in every Posbankum that already has certification and capacity as a problem solving in the community. Supratman hopes that Paralegal and Lurah who oversee Posbankum will actively fill out the Postbankum Service Reporting application developed by BPHN.

"The data collected will be an important basis for the government in formulating evidence-based policies or evidence-based policies," he said.

In addition, Duta Posbankum Sherly Tjoanda, said that the existence of 267 Posbankum in Jakarta was a symbol of the presence of justice for small communities. According to Sherly, Posbankum not only helps with handling cases, but also provides consultations and mediation to resolve residents' problems peacefully.
