JAKARTA - The Constitutional Court (MK) has granted part of the request for judicial review in Law No. 20/2023 on state civil servants (ASN) or civil servants (PNS).

The decision will be one of the important considerations in the process of revising the ASN Law which is currently included in the DPR Priority Prolegnas with the government.

However, Member of Commission II of the DPR RI, Muhammad Khozin, is not sure that the discussion on the revision of Law Number 20 of 2023 concerning State Civil Apparatus or the revision of the ASN Law will be completed this year.

According to Khozin, the revision of the ASN Law is indeed included in the list of Priority Prolegnas in 2025, but with two months remaining he is not sure the discussion will be completed this year.

"On the paper discussing the ASN Bill, it is not possible to carry out this 2025," he told reporters, Thursday, October 30.

Khozin himself revealed that the status of PPPK or honorary staff has not been included in the draft revision of the ASN Law. However, it opens up opportunities to include it in the draft revision of the ASN Law, especially when the PPPK discourse appears that it will be appointed as a civil servant.

"This issue has not yet become a formal proposal in the form of a draft. But this is one of the issues that has also surfaced," he said.
