Dasco Receives Abu Bakar Ba'asyir's Visit To Discuss National Issues

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco, received a visit from clerical figure Abu Bakar Ba'asyir along with several other figures to discuss the growing national issue.

The moment of friendship was uploaded by Dasco on his official Instagram account. In the upload, Dasco and Abu Bakar sat face to face with each other while talking.

"Receiving and keeping in touch with Ulama leader Abu Bakar Ba'asyir along with several other figures, in the leadership room of the Nusantara III Building in Senayan Jakarta," wrote the account @sufmi_dasco as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, October 30.

In his statement, Dasco conveyed the national issue discussed starting from the issue of the benefit of the people to the unity and integrity of the Indonesian nation.

Dasco said the meeting was also part of the DPR's efforts to establish communication with various elements of the nation, including religious leaders, in order to strengthen the spirit of nationality and maintain the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

During the meeting, a number of DPR members, namely Chairman of Commission III of the DPR Habiburokhman and Chairman of the MKD Nazaruddin Dek Gam were also present.
