The Glass Lift Project At Kelingking Beach Nusa Penida Becomes A Spotlight, Koster Assigns Special Committee To Check Locations

Bali Governor Wayan Koster responded to the construction of a glass elevator on the Kelingking Beach cliff, in Nusa Penida District, Klungkung Regency, Bali, which is now in the spotlight.

The existence of the glass elevator project is considered to disturb the beauty of the iconic Kelingking Beach which is visited by many foreign tourists.

Governor Koster said that his party had asked the Special Committee for Asset Spatial Planning and Licensing (Pansus TRAP) of the Bali DPRD to check documents and so on regarding glass lifts at Kelingking Beach, Bali.

"Don't look at whose work from whom. But from the side, one of the second licensing requirements is spatial planning, that's all. So I assigned the TRAP special committee to check documents and other conditions," said Koster in Denpasar, Bali, Thursday, October 30.

Koster explained that the glass elevator permit will be issued in 2024 from the Online Single Submission (OSS) licensing system and also the Klungkung Regency Government, Bali.

"So you see, the permit is issued in 2024. I don't want to mention it. In 2024, and then it slides, until it can finally get a complete permit from the OSS and also from the Klungkung Regency Regional Government (Pemda). The regent of Klungkung before this case emerged, I don't know yet. So I contacted the Regent, I only found out two days ago. Local officials have been summoned," he explained.

Regarding whether the project violates or not, Koster asked the public to wait for the results of the check.

"Don't say it violates or not now. But let's see the documents first and the rules first," he said.
