JAKARTA - BTN officially held the Kick Start BTN Housingpreneur 2025, a competition for innovation in the housing sector which aims to find superior entrepreneurial and innovator seeds to strengthen the national housing ecosystem.

This inaugural event took place at the Auditorium Balai Purnomo Prawiro, University of Indonesia (UI) Depok, and was attended by hundreds of students and the general public, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. BTN Housingpreneur is a grassroots movement to capture fresh ideas and innovative solutions in responding to the challenges of home ownership in Indonesia.

"There are still many families in Indonesia who do not yet have a home. As the largest country in ASEAN, the contribution of the housing sector to our GDP is actually the lowest in the region. Through BTN Housingpreneur, we want to encourage the emergence of innovators who can offer real solutions to answer housing problems and produce businesses from these innovations," said Director of Risk Management BTN Setiyo Wibowo in a written statement received by VOI, Wednesday, October 29.

Apart from having great potential, the housing sector also provides a wide multiplier effect. The construction of housing has an effect directly on 172 industrial sectors, ranging from building materials stores to construction workers.

In the same place, BTN Corporate Secretary Ramon Armando said, BTN Housingpreneur 2025 is not only a competition for students, but is also open to entrepreneurs who are already running.

"We also form alumni communities from each generation. They share experiences, collaborate, and even create joint projects. So, Housingpreneur is not just a competition, but a movement to produce young entrepreneurs in the national housing ecosystem," said BTN Corporate Secretary Ramon Armando.

Director of Cooperation Development, Asset Commercialization, and Integrated Areas of the University of Indonesia, Winny Hanifiati Warouw, appreciated BTN's steps to hold this annual competition as a forum for collaboration between academics and industry.

"By carrying out the concept of eco-tech housing and sustainability, BTN Housingpreneur is in line with the UI spirit to build the nation in a sustainable manner. Collaboration between campuses, industries, and financial institutions such as BTN is the key to the birth of an innovation ecosystem in the housing sector," said Winny Hanifiati Warouw.

At the Kick Start event, an interactive talk show was also held presenting various competent speakers in their fields.

After the launch at UI, BTN will continue the 2025 BTN Housingpreneur roadshow to various major campuses, namely the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), then proceed to the Sepuluh November Institute of Technology (ITS) Surabaya, North Sumatra University (USU) Medan, and Hasanuddin University (Unhas) Makassar.
