JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) together with the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) checked the electronic data capture (EDC) machine at the PT Pertamina (Persero) public fuel filling station (SPBU) this week.

KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said checks were carried out to investigate allegations of corruption in the PT Pertamina (Persero) gas station digitization project. There are a number of areas visited by BPK investigators and auditors.

"This week the KPK investigation team together with the BPK auditors are also conducting a marathon of checking EDC machines at a number of gas stations spread across Central Java, Yogyakarta, West Java and Banten," Budi said in a written statement, Thursday, October 30.

"In this case, it is suspected that the total procurement of around 23 thousand EDC machines is estimated," he continued.

This check is also in line with the examination of three witnesses at the East Java Regional Police's Narcotics Investigation Directorate on Wednesday, October 29. Those questioned were Edrus Ali as the President Commissioner of PT Phase Delta Control and Tri Rachmad Junaedi and Budy Dharmaki as private employees.

From the examination, investigators explored a number of things in the process of digitizing gas stations that were detrimental to the state. "The link is with the calculation of the state's losses," said Budi.

Previously reported, the KPK is again investigating allegations of corruption at PT Pertamina (Persero). This time, the connection with the digitization project of public refueling stations (SPBU) allegedly occurred in 2019-2023.

To investigate this case, the KPK has issued an investigation warrant (sprindik) in September 2024. Three suspects have been named but have not been officially announced.

From the information gathered, the three suspects are DR and W from PT Telkom and Elvizar as Director of PT Pacific Cipta Solusi.

The three suspects are suspected of causing losses to the state. This is because it is suspected that there was too much to pay for in the project which began when Pertamina imposed a policy of using the quick response (QR) code for customers who bought subsidized fuel oil (BBM).
