Mandate Law, Palestinian Independence Is Indonesian Business

JAKARTA - Member of Commission I dpr ri Maj. Gen. TNI (purn) TB Hasanuddin assessed, Indonesia's attitude to always support Palestinian independence will not change. Indonesia has even unequivocally rejected Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel.

This, according to Hasanuddin, is inseparable from the content of the Opening of the 1945 Constitution paragraph 1 which reads "That independence is the right of all nations, and therefore, the colonization of the world must be abolished because it is not in accordance with the fairy of humanity and fairness".

Then in paragraph 4 the preamble to the 1945 Constitution reads "Participate in implementing a world order based on independence, lasting peace, and social justice".

"It is clear based on the two statements above, Indonesian foreign politics must be a politics aimed at implementing world order and not supporting oppression of other countries," Hasanuddin said on Thursday, May 20.

In addition, he continued, referring to the message of the first President Sukarno who asserted that as long as independence has not been handed over to the Palestinians, then during that time the Indonesian nation stood against Israeli occupation.

Historically, he added, Palestine was the first country to support and recognize Indonesia's independence, which was proclaimed on August 17, 1945.

"So it's a big mistake if someone says that Palestinian independence is not Indonesia's business, it's a matter of the mandate of the Law," said TB Hasanuddin.

Earlier, the statement of the former head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) AM Hendropriyono who called the Palestinian issue not Indonesian business turned out to be up to the ears of the al-Qassam Brigades. Through his twitter account, brigade al-Qassam quoted former Presidents Sukarno and Suharto as saying that the Palestinian issue is Indonesian affairs.

"Bung Karno and Bung Harto are so clear, assertive and so often Palestinian independence is our business," reads a translation of the Brigade al-Qassam tweet on his Twiiter account, Wednesday, May 19.

Not only that, the al-Qassam Brigades also cited the sound of the first paragraph of the 1945 Constitution.

"Brother Hendropriyono. In the 1945 Constitution it is clear that independence is actually the right of all nations, so the world must be colonized because it is not in line with the principles of humanity and justice," tweeted the al-Qassam Brigades.
