Prabowo Affirms Police And TNI Must Be Police And People's Army

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that the National Police and the TNI must become police and people's soldiers and be at the forefront of fighting crime.

"So, I remind you everywhere, soldiers must become people's soldiers, the police must become the people's police," Prabowo said at the National Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Wednesday, October 29, as reported by ANTARA.

Prabowo also appreciated the National Police's high performance in maintaining security, upholding the law, and protecting the people. The Head of State emphasized that the National Police must continue to strengthen professionalism and become an institution that is close to the people.

"In this case, I express my deepest appreciation to all members of the Indonesian National Police wherever they are on duty," said the President.

Prabowo said that since the beginning the government had assigned the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, to lead the top three priorities, namely eradicating drugs, smuggling, and online gambling.

"Those are three things that I entrusted to the National Police Chief at the beginning of the government and I saw, thank God, the Police are working seriously," said the President.

The Head of State also emphasized the importance of collaboration between agencies in maintaining security and enforcing the law.

"So, the police must be more alert, must be united, cooperate with the TNI, with customs, with the prosecutor's office, all, all institutions, we must be a team.
