JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has mapped 30 points in Jakarta that will be used as transit-oriented development (TOD) areas. This area is usually located on mass public transport routes, as has been realized in Dukuh Atas or Blok M.
"We mapped that in the plan to lead the Jakarta transportation network, there are around 24 to 30 areas that can be developed into transit-oriented development, in line with the development of a mass public transportation network," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday, October 29.
Syafrin admitted that the development of the TOD area, if carried out by the DKI Provincial Government only through the APBD or through the assignment of regional-owned enterprises (BUMD), the realization will last quite a long time.
Therefore, the DKI Provincial Government will also open an offer to the private sector as a TOD development investor. Later, the Investment Office and One Stop Integrated Services (DPMPTSP) will prepare a cooperation and investment scheme.
"If we wait for mass public transportation to be developed, while the area needs it. So, PTSP through its UPT will develop the area and then offer it, that's the pattern," said Syafrin.
Referring to DKI Governor Regulation Number 67 of 2019 concerning the Implementation of Transit-oriented Areas, areas that are used as TOD areas must include the provision of pedestrian facilities, cyclists, connectivity, building compactification, space density, mixed areas, movements, courtyards. transportation atarmoda, affordable flats, and other activities.
One of the candidates for the TOD area to be offered to investors is the Grogol area with points on Jalan MH Thamrin to Tomang. This area will later become part of the MRT route for East-East (east-west) Jakarta.
"Later on, there will be an MRT east-west track, but because the construction will be in phase 2, the first phase is for the east-west from Thamrin to Medan Satria, the second is from Thamrin to Tomang," explained Syafrin.
