Joint SAR officers evacuated five residents of an old house in the Pecinan area on Jalan Pedamaran, Semarang City, Central Java.

Head of the Semarang SAR Office Budiono said five occupants of the house were trapped in the rubble of a collapsed building on Tuesday at around 23:52 WIB, Tuesday night.

According to him, the evacuation was carried out on the victim who was crushed by the rubble of the old house.

"The construction of the house is thought to be not strong enough. The victim is a family," he said in Semarang, Antara, Wednesday, October 29.

In the evacuation process, he said, four victims were found safe and immediately received treatment. While one other victim was evacuated dead.

He said the victim died allegedly due to being hit by a block and a house wall. Budiono could not explain the cause of the collapse of the old house building.
