Teacher Not Alone Anymore, Kudus Regency Government Prepares Legal Team To Face Problems At School

KUDUS - Kudus Regency Government (Pemkab), Central Java, plans to form a legal assistance team for teachers who face legal problems while carrying out their duties at school. This step was taken so that the problems between teachers and students could be resolved amicably without having to enter the realm of law.

"The formation of this legal assistance team is a form of local government concern for educators who spearhead the improvement of the quality of education in Kudus. So, not every problem must continue to the realm of law," said Kudus Regent Sam'ani Intakiris in Kudus, Antara, Tuesday, October 28.

Sam'ani explained that the Kudus Regency Government will also coordinate with the TNI, Polri, Prosecutor's Office, and the Court to strengthen the function of mediation. The goal is that every problem in the school environment can be resolved peacefully without harming the two parties.

This legal assistance, continued Sam'ani, will involve the Legal Section of the Kudus Regional Secretariat as well as the Education, Youth and Sports Office (Disdikpora) to prepare a team decree (SK).

"We will see first every case. If it can be resolved amicably without burdening the two parties, then we will mediate. This assistance will also involve PGRI and KORPRI," he said.

He emphasized that this policy applies to all teachers, both public and private schools, even teachers from Kudus who teach outside the region.

Responding to the widespread cases of teachers reported by the parents of students, Sam'ani appealed to the public to be wiser before taking legal steps.

If there is a report from the child, parents should not react immediately. Confirm first, sit down together to find out what the problem is. Don't let an inappropriate report cause new problems," he said.

He hopes that the formation of this legal assistance team can provide a sense of security and calm for teachers in carrying out their duties, as well as strengthening communication between schools and parents.

"This support is part of our commitment to keep the education climate in Kudus conducive, so that the teaching and learning process runs smoothly without interruption," said Sam'ani.
