NasDem Supports Maung Pindad Produced For Ministerial Official Vehicles, As Long As The Budget Is Available

JAKARTA - Member of Commission VII DPR from the NasDem faction, Yoyok Riyo Sudibyo supports Maung Pindad's mass production as an official official official official vehicle. According to him, President Prabowo Subianto's move to actively promote Maung Pindad as a superior product of the domestic industry is proof of the Government's seriousness in building national industrial independence.

"This is a real example of taking sides with domestic products, not just slogans. We need to encourage local industries like this. If ministers are asked to use Maung, I fully support it. As long as the budget is available and the process is open," Yoyok told reporters, Tuesday, October 28.

"It would be great if officials set a real example in loving domestic products," he added.

However, the NasDem legislator from the Central Java electoral district X reminded that Maung Pindad's promotion should not only stop at ceremonial, but be realized in the form of concrete support. He also touched on previous experiences, when the Esemka car project was once proud but failed to continue.

"As long as we don't get caught in euphoria like Esemka before. There's a lot of discussion, but in the end it's zoning. Maung Pindad must be guarded so that it doesn't have the same fate, it must be mass produced, widely used, and has a clear market," said Yoyok.

This member of the industrial commission also emphasized the importance of the government to continue to intensify the strengthening of local industries. According to Yoyok, strengthening is not only in the defense sector but also in the energy, manufacturing and technology sectors.

"If you want to be independent, the local industry must be moved seriously. Policies and budgets must be in favor of domestic production. We have the ability, only the political will must be strong," he said.

Yoyok assessed that the synergy between the government, BUMN, and the national private sector needs to be strengthened so that the domestic industry is truly independent and competitive. He also invited the public to play a role in strengthening the national industry by loving and using Indonesian-made products.

"Proud that Indonesian products are not only the duty of the government, but a shared responsibility. If we believe in our own products, our industry will grow, our economy will be strong. So love domestic products," concluded Yoyok.
