Ciliwung River Overflows, 17 RT Floods Up To 1 Meter

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded that 17 RTs in East Jakarta were flooded up to 1 meter due to rains in the DKI Jakarta area and its surroundings from Monday, October 27 night until this morning.

"The latest information on inundation is until 10:00 WIB, BPBD noted that currently inundation has occurred in 17 RTs," said Head of BPBD DKI Jakarta Isnawa Adji in his statement, Tuesday, August 28.

In East Jakarta, floods submerged 17 RTs in Bidara Cina Village with water levels reaching 100 centimeters, 4 RTs in Kampung Melayu reached 100 centimeters, 5 RTs in Cawang Village to 45 centimeters, and 3 RTs in Cililitan Village up to 60 centimeters.

"The cause is overflowing Ciliwung River," said Isnawa.

The rain that hit also caused an increase in the Katulampa Alert Dam / Siaga 3 on Monday, October 27 at 19.00 WIB, and the Depok Alert Monitoring Post / Siaga 3 on Monday at 21.00 WIB.

Currently, BPBD DKI Jakarta is deploying personnel to monitor inundation conditions in each region and coordinate elements of the Natural Resources Service, Highways Office, Gulkarmat Service to carry out inundation suction and ensure that water lines function properly together with local lurah and sub-district heads and prepare basic needs for survivors.

"The inundation is targeted to recede in a short time. BPBD DKI urges the public to remain careful and alert to potential inundation," concluded Isnawa.
