3 Demos Today, 1,610 Joint Personnel Deployed In Several Jakarta Areas

Central Jakarta Metro Police deployed at least 1,610 joint personnel from the TNI, Polri and DKI Regional Government to oversee three demonstrations by a number of community elements, Monday, October 27.

"This security is carried out to ensure the smooth delivery of public aspirations," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol Susatyo Purnomo Condro, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 27.

According to him, in Central Jakarta there were demonstrations carried out by a number of community alliances, namely in front of the DPR/MPR RI Building, Monas Area and the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture.

To ensure security, said Susatyo, 1,610 joint personnel were deployed to guard the demonstration.

Susatyo asked the masses to hold a peaceful and orderly action, to be prohibited from burning tires and destroying public facilities or closing roads.

"Please express your opinion, but remain in the corridor of law and order. We are here to ensure that everything runs safely and conducively," he said.

Regarding the traffic diversion scenario, the police said it was situational. However, residents are advised to avoid the DPR area during the action and are advised to use alternative routes.

"We ask for the understanding of the community. Safety and comfort together are our priorities," said Susatyo.

On that occasion, Susatyo appealed to the public not to be easily consumed by hoaxes circulating on social media and information that could potentially trigger a commotion.

"Security officers do not carry firearms and serve residents who express their opinions humanely and professionally," he added.

DPR/MPR RI Building

The first demonstration was held by the Professional Education Forum for Teachers of Position in Indonesia along with several other mass elements in the DPR/MPR RI complex, Senayan.

Security starts at 07.00 WIB with readyness and Strategic Wall Game (TWG) activities at the location.

Kemendikdasmen RI

The second demonstration took place at the Indonesian Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen).

Kuningan Region

The third demonstration will be carried out by the Kuningan Student and Student Youth Association together with several elements of mass in the Gambir area, precisely at the Merdeka Barat (Merbar) Command Post.

Security activities at the location also started with apples and TWG at 09.00 WIB.

Ruslan appealed to the protesters to convey their aspirations peacefully and not to disturb public order or traffic flow around the location.
