DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Prepares 9 Health Facilitiy Locations For Mutual Cooperation Vaccination

JAKARTA - The Mutual Cooperation (Gotong Royong) vaccination program in Jakarta has been running since last Tuesday, May 18. The DKI Provincial Government has prepared nine health facilities (faskes) as locations for the Mutual Cooperation vaccination.

"There are 9 health facilities in Jakarta that will run the Mutual Cooperation vaccination", said Head of the Epidemiological Surveillance and Immunization Section of the DKI Jakarta Health Service, Ngabila Salama, when contacted, Wednesday, May 19.

However, Ngabila did not explain which health facilities were used as the location for the vaccinations. it's just that, the Ministry of Health has issued a letter of appointment to the nine health facilities.

"In the future, which health facilities can be vaccinated will be validated by Biofarma and a visitation from the related Health Office. If you get permission, you will get the distribution of Biofarma Logistik and vaccinations", said Ngabila.

In total, 19 companies in Jakarta have started the independent COVID-19 vaccine program.

"The mutual cooperation vaccine is a paid program. All of these are registered through Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) and also Biofarma as SOE. We don't have any city allocations for this Sinopharm vaccine", she said.

Separately, DKI Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria said that the government has provided a stock of 3.5 million Mutual Cooperation vaccines specifically for workers in the Jabodetabek area.

Riza did not mention an exact figure on how many stocks of Mutual Cooperation vaccines were obtained by company employees in Jakarta. However, he said that this vaccination could help accelerate the vaccination program. DKI is targeting the Mutual Cooperation vaccination to be completed this year.

"Approximately 3.5 million targeted in Jabodetabek including DKI Jakarta is very helpful. Hopefully we will achieve the target this year in Jakarta", said Riza in a virtual press conference.
