President Prabowo Is Expected Not To Be Easy To Steering Other Parties

JAKARTA The executive director of Survey and Polling Indonesia (SPIN), Igor Dirgantara, hopes that President Prabowo Subianto will be more selective in receiving input from his subordinates in the Red and White Cabinet before issuing government policies.

He gave an example, one that should be watched out for is input from the Chairman of the National Economic Council (DEN), Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan who asked Prabowo not to be regulated by labor organizations. Luhut needs to know that now is the time for Mr. Prabowo. All Indonesian presidents have never been shaken by their predecessors," he said, Sunday, October 26.

He stated that President Prabowo has a fairly good close relationship with workers and their organizations. Therefore, it would be better to let Prabowo carry out his agenda without being interfered with by interventions that could damage this good relationship.

"If it's accepted as long as it's accepted, especially about workers, this is dangerous. Luhut's input can trigger the anger of workers, after all, if you want to provide input, especially those who are sensitive, you don't need to be exposed. Just say it directly," added Igor.

He suggested that Luhut look at the situation before maneuvering, and realized that President Prabowo's government was different from the Joko Widodo era, which at that time could buy many positions.

"I'm sure Pak Prabowo is not easy to drive," he continued.

Seperti diketahui, Luhut sebelumnya mengaku sudah melapor kepada Presiden Prabowo Subianto terkait rumus atau formula kenaikan upah minimum provinsi (UMP) 2026.

Dia meminta Prabowo tidak disetir oleh segelintir organisasi buruh dengan memperhatikan kesejahteraan pekerja di Indonesia berbasis data.

“Saya bilang Presiden Prabowo, 'Pak, kenapa kita harus diatur sama organisasi buruh? Kita kan mikirkan dia (buruh). Kalau dia (organisasi buruh) hanya mikirkan dia, tidak mikirkan investor, ya susah. Jadi, harus ada ekuilibrium dan itu harus ketegasan kita semua,” kata Luhut.

As is known, Luhut previously admitted that he had reported to President Prabowo Subianto regarding the formula or formula for the increase in the provincial minimum wage (UMP) 2026.

He asked Prabowo not to be driven by a handful of labor organizations by paying attention to the welfare of workers in Indonesia based on data.

"I said President Prabowo, 'Sir, why do we have to be regulated by labor organizations? We're thinking about him (labor). If he (the labor organization) only thinks about him, doesn't think about investors, it's difficult. So, there must be an equilibrium and it must be firm for all of us," said Luhut.
