TNI Members Find Cannabis Fields In Kar-Made Forests

TNI officials from Kodim 0205/Tanah Karo found a marijuana field area of about one reante (20x20 meters) in the Simbuatan forest area, Pancur Batu Village, Brand District, Karo Regency, North Sumatra.

"The team is still investigating to reveal who planted the prohibited plants. Destruction will be carried out together, Saturday (25/10) morning," said Dandim 0205/TK Lt. Col. Inf. Robert Panjaitan as reported by ANTARA, Friday, October 24.

The findings stemmed from a local resident's report to Babinsa Koramil 02/Threepanah at around 09.00 WIB. Residents who declined to be named informed that there were suspicious plants in the forest area that were strongly suspected of being marijuana.

Following up on the report, Babinsa immediately reported to Danramil 02/Three-panah Captain Inf Krista Ginting, who then forwarded the information to Dandim 0205/TK Lt. Col. Inf. Robert Panjaitan.

On the orders of the Dandim, the Head of Kodim 0205/TK, Captain Arm Rajiman Girsang, together with Intel Unit and Intel Staff personnel from Kodim 0205/TK, accompanied by Provost, Babinsa, as well as a number of residents, immediately moved to the location.

The team also received support from Denintel I/BB and Intelrem 023/KS personnel.

At around 11.45 WIB, the joint team arrived at the location and found a marijuana field with a plant height of up to three meters.

Officers are still conducting sweeps around the location to ensure there are no other cannabis fields in the area.

The village head of Pancur Batu, Sahe Munte (48), and Kadus I, Benni Munte (44), when asked for information explained that the land was indeed in their area, but until now it is not known who the owner or grower of the marijuana is.
