JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) has prepared nine parking points in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area to support the implementation of the 2025 Jakarta Running Festival which will last for two days, namely Saturday and Sunday, October 25-26, 2025.
Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, explained that the mass sports activity will be attended by thousands of runners from various distance categories.
"Jakarta Running Festival 2025 will be held for two days. Saturday, October 25, 2025 for categories 5 kilometers and 21 kilometers, as well as Sunday, October 26, 2025 for categories 10 kilometers and 42 kilometers," said Syafrin in his statement, Friday, October 24.
The DKI Transportation Agency has prepared nine parking locations with different capacities around the GBK area that can be used by participants and the general public during the activity. Here are the details:
1. Southeast Plaza Parking: 150 four-wheeled vehicles, 174 two-wheeled vehicles.
2. Istora Parking: 257 four-wheeled vehicles, 1,000 two-wheeled vehicles.
3. Elevated parking south side: 400 four-wheeled vehicles, 1,500 two-wheeled vehicles.
4. Elevated parking north side: 400 four-wheeled vehicles, 1,500 two-wheeled vehicles.
5. Aquatic Parking: 175 four-wheeled vehicles, 250 two-wheeled vehicles.
6. ABC Field Parking: 50 four-wheeled vehicles, 1,305 two-wheeled vehicles.
7. Intermediate Stadium Parking: 100 four-wheeled vehicles, 500 two-wheeled vehicles.
8. Albina Mosque Parking: 25 four-wheeled vehicles, 1,000 two-wheeled vehicles.
9. Softball Field Parking: 150 four-wheeled vehicles, 500 two-wheeled vehicles.
With a total capacity of thousands of vehicles, the Transportation Agency hopes that this parking arrangement can maintain the smooth mobility of participants and spectators without disrupting the traffic flow around Senayan.
Furthermore, Syafrin explained, the implementation of mass running activities that require large-scale traffic security and regulation has an impact on the elimination of motorized vehicle free days (HBKB) or car free day (CFD) in Jakarta on Sunday.
"In accordance with Governor Regulation Number 12 of 2016 concerning the Implementation of Motor Vehicle Free Day, that the Jakarta Running Festival 2025 activity requires special traffic and security regulations, so for Sunday, October 26, 2025, the implementation of Motor Vehicle Free Day is abolished," said Syafrin.
The Transportation Agency also appealed to participants to use public transportation to activity locations, such as Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta, and Commuter Line, to reduce the volume of private vehicles in the GBK area.
"The participants of the Jakarta Running Festival 2025 activity are advised to use public transportation services (Transjakarta, Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Jakarta, and Commuter Line) to go to the activity location in accordance with operational hours services," said Syafrin.
He also asked people who have no interest to avoid roads affected by traffic closures and engineering during the event.
"Road users are advised to avoid these roads and be able to adjust the traffic arrangements set, obey traffic signs, instructions from officers in the field and prioritize road safety," he added.
