JAKARTA - Russian President Vladimir Putin claims they advised United States (US) President Donald Trump to impose sanctions on the Russian oil industry against the US.
He said the Russian oil situation in the world market had been discussed with Trump.
"If our oil and petroleum products [Russia] decline in the world market, it will cause a spike in oil prices and petroleum products, including gas stations, and the US is no exception," Putin told reporters, quoted from Tass, Friday, October 24.
Trump said the Russian oil situation was being considered based on domestic needs so that what Trump's 'spirerators' suggested was actually not true.
"And if we consider a domestic political calendar in states, it's clear how sensitive some processes are here. And those who suggest such a decision to the current government need to understand who they are working for," Trump continued.
On October 22, the US imposed sanctions on more than 30 Russian military subsidiaries, Rosneft and Lukoil. These restrictions do not apply to their transactions with the Kaspia Pipe Consortium (CPC), which is used by the US, and Tengizchevroil.
