PANGKALPINANG - The Regional Police of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province handed over a case of smuggling 24 tons of subsidized fertilizer to the Koba District Attorney of Central Bangka Regency, in order to speed up the legal process for the suspects of smuggling subsidized fertilizers.

He said the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) of the Bangka Belitung Islands Police handed over two suspects in the subsidized fertilizer smuggling case, namely Ro (33) and Bu (36) from Lampung Province to the Central Bangka District Attorney General's Office, Wednesday (22/10).
In addition to handing over the suspect, the Babel Islands Police also handed over evidence in the form of 480 sacks of subsidized fertilizer weighing a total of 24 tons and two trucks used in the smuggling of the subsidized fertilizer.
"For evidence, 24 tons of subsidized fertilizer and two trucks have been handed over and are currently deposited in the Pangkalpinang Rupbasan," he said.
He stated that the surrender of the suspect and the evidence was part of the ongoing legal process.
"We hope that this case can be tried immediately, so that the perpetrators can be held accountable for their actions in accordance with applicable legal provisions," he said.
He added that the mode used by the suspects was suspected to be related to prices because the subsidized fertilizers sold were much cheaper.
"This suspect's confession is because the mode of seeking profit is the price they get. They get this subsidized fertilizer price at a price of Rp. 180 thousand, then resold to Bangka Belitung at a price of Rp. 200 thousand," he said.

He explained that these suspects were charged with Article 6 paragraph (1) letters a and/or b in conjunction with Article 1 Sub 1e letter a and/or b of the Indonesian Emergency Law Number 7 of 1955 concerning Investigation, Prosecution and Judicial of Economic Crimes in conjunction with Article 59 of the Indonesian Regulation of the Implementation of Presidential Regulation Number 6 of 2025 concerning Governance of Subsidized Fertilizers in conjunction with Article 34 paragraph (3) of Permendag No. 4 of 2023 concerning the Procurement of Subsidized Fertilizers for the Agriculture Sector Jo Article 55 paragraph (1) to -1 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of 6 years or 2 years in prison.
