Chromebook Case Rp1.9 Trillion: Head Of NTB Education And Culture Era Nadiem Short Examined At The NTB Prosecutor's Office

The investigating team of the Attorney General's Office (AGO) has again examined the former Head of the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province Education and Culture Office, Aidy Furqan, regarding the alleged corruption case in the procurement of Chromebook laptops during the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology Nadiem Anwar Makarim.

The examination of Aidy, who is now the Head of the NTB Food Security Service, took place at the NTB High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) Building, Mataram City, Thursday, October 23.

He said that his examination this time lasted briefly, about 10 minutes, in the Special Crime Room of the NTB Prosecutor's Office.

"Just completing the examination a few months ago, that's all," he said.

When asked about the dynamics of the Chromebook procurement case in NTB, Aidy was reluctant to comment further. "I don't know about the dynamics of Chromebooks in NTB," he said briefly.

Spokesperson for the NTB Prosecutor's Office, Efrien Saputera, confirmed that the AGO's investigation team had investigated Aidy Furqan.

"Yes, that's right. But it's not the investigation or investigation of the NTB Prosecutor's Office, but the AGO's Pidsus that is handled," he said.

Aidy had previously been questioned by the AGO in mid-August 2025. At that time, he was asked for information regarding the alleged corruption in the procurement of Chromebooks for the 2019-2022 laptop in the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Apart from Aidy, the Secretary of the NTB Education and Culture Office Jaka Wahyana and the former official who made the commitment in the SMK of the NTB Education and Culture Office were also noted to have been questioned by investigators.

In this case, the AGO has named four suspects, namely: Jurist Tan (JT), Special Staff of the Minister of Education and Culture 2020-2024, Ibrahim Arief (IBAM), technology consultant at the Ministry of Education and Culture, Sri Wahyuningsih (SW), Director of the 2020 Ministry of Education and Culture School as well as the power of budget user, Mulyatsyah (MUL), Director of the 2020 Ministry of Education and Culture's Junior High School as well as the power of budget users.

Attorney General's Office investigators found indications of malicious conspiracy in the procurement project. Laptop procurement is said to be directed using the Chrome operating system (Chromebook), not Windows as originally recommended by the technical team.

The system change made the implementation of the program not according to the objectives until state losses were categorized as total loss, with a value of IDR 1.9 trillion.
