ARCI Survey: 75.5 Percent Of East Java Residents Satisfied With The Prabowo-Gibran Energy Policy

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto's government's energy policy received high appreciation from the people of East Java. Based on the results of the Indonesian Accurate Research and Consulting (ARCI) survey, 75.5 percent of East Java residents have expressed satisfaction with the government's performance in the field of energy independence over the past year.

ARCI Director Baihaki Sirajt explained that the level of public satisfaction with national energy policies was among the highest after the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program and budget efficiency.

Energy policy is one of the important indicators. Residents see the government's move to maintain energy independence and the development of EBT (New Renewable Energy) is going well," said Baihaki, quoted by Antara.

In general, ARCI noted that 82.2 percent of East Java residents were satisfied with the performance of the Prabowo 'Gibran government. This figure reflects the high level of public confidence in the direction of national policy, especially in maintaining energy resilience and regional economic independence.

"This figure also marks the synergy and collaboration between the central and provincial governments going well. So that the public's appreciation of the government's performance is very positive," said Baihaki.

One of the factors that strengthen the public's positive perception is the people-based energy policy implemented by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia. According to Baihaki, the public sees the direct benefits of the energy sector's policies towards the local economy, especially in oil and gas-producing areas such as Bojonegoro, Tuban, and Gresik.

"East Java is one of the highest satisfaction bases because people see tangible results from energy policies, downstreaming, and efforts to transition to new and renewable energy," he said.

The legalization and optimization of people's oil wells is a concrete example. Based on data from the East Java ESDM Office, currently there are 798 people's oil wells that have been inventoried "371" in Bojonegoro, 408 in Tuban, and 19 in Gresik. This program is carried out as an implementation of the Regulation of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 14 of 2025, which provides space for BUMD, cooperatives, and MSMEs to manage community oil wells legally and sustainably.

This step is considered capable of encouraging national energy resilience as well as opening up opportunities for regional income and new jobs for local communities.

"This policy is not only about energy, but also the people's economy. Minister Bahlil has succeeded in connecting national energy interests with direct benefits for the community," added Baihaki.

Although the level of public satisfaction is quite high, ARCI assesses that the government must maintain transparency and accountability in the implementation of energy projects and downstreaming.

"The challenge now is not only to accelerate, but to ensure that there is no practice of irregularities in the field. The public is satisfied, but they are also increasingly critical," said Baihaki.

The ARCI survey was conducted on October 7'17, 2025 in 38 districts/cities throughout East Java with 1,200 respondents. The method used is stratified multistage random sampling with a margin of error of 2.8 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.
