JAKARTA - The DKI Provincial Government has met with a community of photographers who limit visitors to Tebet Eco Park to take pictures of the park using cameras and ask for a levy of IDR 500 thousand.

Head of DKI Jakarta Satpol PP Satriadi Gunawan revealed that the request for levy was reported by residents with the initials AM. After being met and asked for clarification, the photography activist community has apologized.

"The Coordinator has apologized for the incident which made Eco Park not conducive, resulting in reports through social media by residents on behalf of AM," Satriadi told reporters, Monday, October 20.

Meanwhile, the DKI Jakarta City Parks and Forests Service (Distamhut) emphasized that it has never imposed any fees for photography activities in the Tebet Eco Park area, South Jakarta.

Head of DKI Distamhut City Park, Dimas Ario Nugroho, said that his party had traced the news and confirmed that the levy did not come from the park manager, but from a community on behalf of itself as a photography manager at Tebet Eco Park.

"The agency does not prohibit photography activities in the park area, either from the community or individually. From the service or friends in the field, they did not issue a special permit. And a summons and clarification of the community had been made before it was crowded in the media," said Dimas confirmed separately.

Dimas explained that the community in question was called the Tebet Eco Park Photographary Community. They are not affiliated with official garden offices or managers.

"They make their own operations such as vests, ID cards, etc. Community initiatives," he said.

According to Dimas, the activities carried out by the community were purely a personal initiative without official permission. Therefore, Distamhut DKI has given a direct warning after making a clarification.

"We have made calls, clarifications, and warnings against the community," he said.

Distamhut DKI emphasized that it would clarify the rules to the public that photography activities in public park areas such as Tebet Eco Park are free of charge, as long as they are not commercial.

As a further step, Dimas ensures that supervision in the Tebet Eco Park area will be increased, especially for activities that have the potential to violate the rules or be used by certain parties to seek personal benefits.

"Supervision will be increased again regarding the ability of officers to monitor activities that have the potential to violate the rules, especially," he concluded.
