KPK Warning To Purworejo Regency Government: No Budget Leaks!

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) reminded the Purworejo Regency Government to have integrity. Careful planning to transparency of goods and services procurement projects must be prioritized to prevent budget leakage.

This was conveyed by the Director of Coordination and Supervision (Korsup) WIlayah III KPK Ely Kusumastuti during the Corruption Prevention Coordination Meeting between the KPK and the Purworejo Regency Government (Pemkab) at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

"Most importantly, we have one perception of building Purworejo for the common good. There should be no leakage of the regional budget," said Ely as quoted from the KPK statement, Saturday, October 18.

In addition, Ely also reminded each development proposal in line with regional priorities and public needs. Moreover, the Purworejo Regency Government still relies on transferring central government funds.

The KPK data stated that the total revenue of the Purworejo Regency Government reached Rp2.43 trillion. Of that amount, Rp1.82 trillion came from the transfer of central government funds and the remaining Rp505 billion came from local revenue (PAD).

"Don't let the dependence on the transfer of the central government and local governments have a lot of non-optimal spending," he said.

Responding to the KPK's input, Purworejo Regent Yuli Hastuti will continue to improve the system. All levels of regional apparatus will also be used to strengthen supervision.

"From this activity, we hope to be able to improve the system to realize good governance in our environment," he said.

This supervision will also be carried out by the Purworejo Regency DPRD. Tunaryo as the chairman stated that the legislators were ready to carry out their duties.

"At least every four times a week and will be upright in carrying out the functions of the DPRD," he concluded.
