JAKARTA - Sweden's leading activist, Greta Thunberg, admitted that he was beaten, kicked and left starving while being detained by Israeli soldiers.
The 22-year-old also recounted being tortured by Israeli soldiers who took selfies and scribbled on her property with obscene graffiti.
"I saw about 50 people sitting lined kneeling with handcuffs and their forehead stuck to the ground," Thunberg told Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, quoted by AN, Thursday, October 16.
Thunberg, who was taken into custody along with other members of the Global Sumud Flotilla fleet, said the Israeli army "has no empathy or sense of humanity" towards the detainees, and he had to "demonstrate" the water while being held at 40 degrees Celsius.
"A lot I don't remember. So much happens at once. You are shocked, you are in pain, but you are trying to stay calm," said Thunberg.
"When people fainted, we banged on the prison and asked the doctor. Then the guards came and said: 'We will poison you with gas.' It was their custom to say that. They lifted the gas cylinder and threatened to attach it to our bodies," said Thunberg.
"At night, the guards regularly come and shake the bars, highlight the flashlight, and several times overnight they enter and force everyone to stand up."

Thunberg has been detained since October 2, after a group of mission ships from the Global Sumud Flotilla fleet attempted to bring aid to Gaza to be captured by Israeli troops in international waters.
The humanitarian mission ships were asked by the Israeli army to change course from Gaza's destination, but they stated to refuse.
"Illegal attacks on unarmed humanitarian workers in international waters," reads the statement of the Global Sumud Flotilla fleet at the time.
Thunberg was then deported on October 6.
