The public prosecutor (JPU) of the Central Aceh District Attorney (Kejari) has detained four suspects in a banking crime with a fictitious credit mode of financing PT Bank Pembiayaan Rakyat Syariah (BPRS) Gayo with state losses reaching Rp34.8 billion.

Head of the Intelligence Section of the Central Aceh Kejari, Hasrul, said the detention was carried out after the public prosecutor received the delegation of cases along with suspects and evidence from police investigators.

"The Central Aceh Kejari public prosecutor has detained the suspect in a banking crime for the next 20 days at the Takengon Class IIB Detention Center. Detention is for the benefit of delegating the case to court," said Hasrul, who was contacted from Banda Aceh, Tuesday, as reported by Antara.

The four suspects in the fictitious financing crime are AP (36), DP (33), AY (42), and S (42). The suspects are residents of Central Aceh Regency.

Hasrul said the crime involving the suspects took place from December 2018 to April 2024. The suspects are suspected of financing fictitious customers at PT BPRS Gayo.

The actions were carried out by the suspects with 966 fictitious customers. They falsified identity cards, marriage books, work, and others using an image editing application.

Furthermore, the identity of the customers they edited was used for the financing file at the bank. All processes for approval for financing are also fictitious.

"After the process took place, the contract and disbursement of financing were carried out. The fictitious financing process caused PT BPRS Gayo to suffer losses of Rp34.8 billion," said Hasrul.

For information, PT BPRS Gayo has now closed after its business license was revoked by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in September 2025.
