JAKARTA - The central government through the Danantara Investment Management Agency (BPI) cooperates with the DKI Provincial Government to build a waste power plant (PLTSa) in Jakarta.

Welcoming well, DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung claims that Jakarta is indeed better prepared to build PLTSa when compared to other regions.

"For matters related to PLTSa, we have sat with Danantara many times and it has been agreed because Jakarta compared to other areas, the infrastructure must be better prepared," said Pramono at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday, October 15.

Moreover, Jakarta is the largest waste-producing city in Indonesia. Currently, Jakarta produces up to 8,000 tons of waste per day.

Not to mention, the pile of Jakarta waste at the Bantargebang Integrated Waste Management Site (TPST), Bekasi, has reached 55 million tons. Therefore, Jakarta's waste processing facility is one of the most needed facilities.

"For that, in Jakarta, first, the infrastructure is available. Second, investors, especially contractors, the world's major operators also hope to cooperate in Jakarta," Pramono explained.

Pramono meneruhkan, Jakarta membutuhkan empat PLTSa dengan masing-masing bisa memproses 2.500 hingga 3.000 ton sampah per hari. Nantinya, tiap PLTSa akan menghasilkan 35 megawatt.

"With PLN, we will definitely be able to cooperate because if it is 20 cents per kWh, then there is no need for a tipping fee, so I am sure that the waste problem in Jakarta will be resolved soon," he added.

Previously, the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM Rosan Roeslani revealed that the cooperation in PLTSa development between Danantara and local governments began in early November.

"There is waste to energy, the use of electricity waste is planned because it is indeed given a mandate to Danantara to carry out this program openly, transparently. We will carry out this program starting in early November," said Rosan after opening the Jakarta Investment Forum (JIF), Jakarta, Thursday, October 9.

Rosan claimed that the implementation of this program would be carried out openly and transparently. Socialization to local governments, he said, had been carried out since last week.

"This program not only meets electricity needs, but also has a positive impact on health, the environment, and provides extraordinary benefits," said Rosan.
