Allegedly Because Of A Stove, Husband Burns Wife In Jatinegara

JAKARTA - Police officers are hunting for a man who allegedly burned his wife on Jalan Otista Raya, Bidara Cina, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, on Monday, October 14, noon.

"The perpetrator is still being chased," said Head of the East Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Kasat Reskrim) AKBP Dicky Fertoffan when confirmed in Jakarta, Wednesday.

The victim is known to have the initials CAU (24), who is still being treated intensively due to burns at the Hermina Jatinegara Hospital.

Following up on residents' reports, the Police from the East Jakarta Metro Police (Jaktim) have visited the scene and examined a number of witnesses.

This case is now being handled by the East Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) and is still being investigated.

According to local residents, the incident occurred at the couple's house and had caused a commotion.

"I don't know the motive for the incident, but basically the husband burned his wife, it happened in the afternoon," said Nia (not her real name) in Jakarta, Wednesday, October 15.

The perpetrator who lives with the victim's mother is known to often commit riots in the environment. Residents have also felt restless with his actions for a long time.

"He has often done chaotic things. After the incident, the perpetrator fled without knowing where. For his wife, he is still being treated at the hospital, the burns are quite severe," he said.

Not only that, the alleged perpetrator is even known to have damaged and attacked a porridge trader.

"The information is like that, (the perpetrator has attacked the merchant), hoping that the perpetrator will be caught soon," said Chairman of RW 06 Bidara Cina Helmi when confirmed separately.

The incident began when the perpetrator ordered porridge from Udin for Rp. 5,000 in Jatinegara on April 24, 2024. However, he refused to pay after being billed.
