JAKARTA - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas emphasized that the Peace Summit led by the United States and Egypt is an important step in advancing the Palestinian struggle.
The Palestinian president said the summit attended by world leaders discussed various initial issues, including ceasefires, prisoner exchanges, access to humanitarian aid and the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Gaza region to the agreed line.
In an interview with Russia's Sputnik, Abbas said, "We want to complete this process with two important things," he said.
First, working to rebuild Gaza, which is considered very important and requires international efforts including Arab countries.
"The second is peace, namely building peace through an international conference held for this purpose," Abbas said as quoted by ANTARA FROM WAFA-OANA.
