Mandatory, Sultan HB X Asks The Song Indonesia Raya To Be Played Every Morning

JAKARTA - The Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X requested that the national anthem of Indonesia Raya be played in public spaces in his area every morning at 10.00 WIB starting May 20, 2021.

This is stated in Circular Number 29 / SE / V / 2021 concerning "Listening to the Song of Indonesia Raya" which was signed by Sultan HB X on Tuesday, May 18.

"The National Anthem of Indonesia Raya has one stanza so that it will be played every 10.00 WIB or every morning when starting activities," said the Sultan.

The Circular Letter is addressed to regents / mayors in DIY, heads of representatives of central government agencies, government agencies within the DIY regional government, leaders of BUMN and BUMD, and leaders of private companies.

According to him, the SE was published as an effort to increase the spirit of nationalism and strengthen the unity and integrity of the nation and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

The King of the Yogyakarta Palace also asked everyone present when the Indonesia Raya song was played or sung to stand tall with respect.

"It is obligatory to stand tall with respect," said the Sultan in the SE.

The Indonesia Raya Bergema Movement was raised by a number of community elements in Yogyakarta who are members of the Yogya Rakyat Forum for Indonesia (For You Indonesia) with the Yogyakarta Regional Government, the Yogyakarta Palace, and the Pakualaman Kadipaten as a means of ongoing campaign to promote nationalism.

The Indonesia Raya Bergema Movement will be proclaimed by Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X from the Yogyakarta Kepatihan Ward on May 20, 2021 to coincide with National Awakening Day.

Head of the General Bureau of Public Relations and Protocol of the DIY Regional Secretariat, Imam Pratanadi, hopes that after the SE Governor of DIY is issued, it can be immediately followed up with the SE of the regent / mayor.

"Although it does not mention obligations, it is a provision for this circular letter to be addressed. Listening to the song Indonesia Raya at 10.00 WIB or according to individual conditions," said Imam.

Head of the Department of Politics and Public Advocacy (Denpom) For You Indonesia Widihasto Wasana Putra said that after the movement was announced, the song Indonesia Raya would reverberate in public spaces such as government agencies, private institutions, educational institutions, and shopping centers every morning.

Widihasto also claimed to have communicated with a number of chancellors of universities, hotel associations, and a number of trade center managers.

"We continue to communicate with many parties, including strengthening other cities in Indonesia to do the same," he said.
