SOLO - The seventh President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) stated that his commitment was to provide support to the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI). This was confirmed after attending a meeting with PSI elites in Bali, early last October.

"Yes, as I said at the congress, I will fully support PSI and will work hard for PSI," Jokowi told reporters in Solo, Monday, October 13.

"I was asked to give directions on political work at PSI. How to work under with the people, what needs to be considered. That's all, nothing else," he explained.
The meeting took place after Jokowi attended the wedding of PSI Bali Chair I Putu Yoga Adi Saputra. This moment was then used by PSI cadres to discuss with Jokowi about future political strategies.
"This momentum is used as best as possible to discuss with figures we consider to be role models and inspirations," said Putu Yoga.
In a video that was widely circulated on social media, Friday (3/10/2025), Jokowi stood in the middle of a forum, giving direct directions to PSI elites. Present at the forum were a number of important names such as the Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni, PSI Deputy General Chair Andy Budiman, PSI General Chair Kaesang Pangarep, former PSI Chairman Grace Natalie, and PSI Board of Trustees Deputy Chairman Ahmad Ali.
The majority of cadres are seen wearing traditional clothes such as kebaya and batik. Meanwhile, Kaesang looks neat in formal suits.
The meeting was referred to as part of PSI's preparation for the 2029 General Election, with Jokowi acting as a mentor and provider of strategic input.
"Preparation for the 2029 General Election is one of our main discussions," he said.
