JAKARTA - United States President Donald Trump hopes more countries can join the Abrahamic Agreement or Abraham Accords, saying there is no longer any reason for the Gaza Strip and Iran.

This was conveyed by President Trump during a speech at "Sharm El Sheikh Summit For Peace: Agreement To End The War In Gaza" which was held at Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt on Monday.

In a speech at the summit President Trump said world leaders had gathered to celebrate not only the end of the Gaza war, but also the beginning of the new "Central East".

"From now onwards, we can build a strong, stable, prosperous, and united region in rejecting the path of terror forever," President Trump said.

He further said the "last quick run" towards an agreement ending the Gaza war began on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly late last month, when he met with leaders of eight Arab and Muslim countries.

"We listened and exchanged ideas, and we went ahead until the job was done," said President Trump.

"The first step towards peace is always the hardest, and today, we have taken it together," he praised.

Yesterday, President Trump along with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani signed a declaration to guarantee a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

A number of world leaders and international organizations witnessed the signing, including French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto, King of Jordan Abdullah II, to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

There are also British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Spanish PM Pedro Sanchez, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Canadian PM Mark Carney, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit and European Council President Antonio Costa.

In his speech, President Trump also expressed hope that more countries would join the Abrahamic Agreement.

"I hope everyone will join the Abrahamic Agreement. Now, a lot of people, even today, are talking about the joining of everyone. So many people have discussed that with me, and this will be a great tribute to the United States," said President Trump.

Abraham Accords itself is a bridge to the normalization of Israel's relations with a number of Arab countries initiated by the first term of President Trump's administration, signed by Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, and Israel on September 15, 2020 in Washington DC. Morocco following December 2020 and Sudan January 2021.

"I hope everyone joins now. Now we have no reason. We have no Gaza and we have no Iran as an excuse," said President Trump.

"All momenta now lead to great, noble, and eternal peace. Our commitment to fulfilling the 20-point plan that we are compiling together will be a crucial foundation to achieve that bright future," he said.
