JAKARTA - The Jambi Provincial Government (Pemprov) is trying to resolve land conflicts involving a transmigration area in Gambut Jaya Village, Sungai Gelam District, Muaro Jambi Regency. This problem arose after an alleged manipulation of land certificate data in the Independent Swakarsa Transmigration Area (TSM) IV New Gelam.
Head of the Jambi Province Manpower and Transmigration Office (Disnakertrans), Ahmad Bestari, said that his party together with the Jambi Regional Office of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) are currently coordinating to find the best solution.
"We are trying to find a way to resolve it with BPN and related parties," he said in Jambi, Sunday.

According to Ahmad, the indication of manipulation of land certificate documents is one of the strong reasons for the government to ask for a thorough investigation from ATR/BPN Jambi, so that the root of the problem can be found clearly.
"We are waiting for the results of the clarification and follow-up from BPN," he continued.
Previously, the Minister of Transmigration Muhammad Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanegara had held a meeting with local governments, residents, and a number of stakeholders to discuss the land conflict on August 20, 2025.
During the meeting, the former Regent of Muaro Jambi for the 2006'2016 period, Burhanudin Mahir, was also present and confirmed that he had never signed a certificate issuance permit which is now a polemic.
The transmigration program in Peat Jaya itself was designed since 2009, with a target of 200 families (KK) receiving land. Of these, 100 families are local residents of Muaro Jambi, while the other 100 families come from Pati Regency, Central Java.
Based on the Decree (SK) of the Regent of Muaro Jambi Number 533 of 2009, each program participant is promised two hectares of land and placed in the Four Settlement Unit (SP4) of Peat Jaya. However, until now, the participants have only received 0.6 hectares of land per family, while the remaining business land promised has not been realized until 2025.
