The land dispute in Tegal Alur, Kalideres, West Jakarta was again in the spotlight after being visited by the Police from the West Jakarta Police with the National Land Agency (BPN) on Friday, October 10.

The legal counsel from one of the defendants regretted the activity because the land object was still in the trial process in court.

The defendant's attorney, Tuti Susilawati, explained that the measurement activities carried out at the invitation of a number of parties were considered inappropriate before a permanent decision was made from the court.

"Currently the case is still in the conclusion stage, and in the next two weeks the verdict is scheduled. So all parties should wait for the legal process to be completed," he said.

He emphasized that the land in question was part of PT Sarana Jaya's assets, based on documents and official information from the company which was also present at the measurement activities.

Sarana Jaya herself has confirmed that this land belongs to them. Therefore, we question the urgency of measurement activities carried out in the midst of the ongoing judicial process," he explained.

He also regretted if there were parties suspected of making transactions or payments to parties who did not have clear legality.

"If there is a purchase from the heirs, it must be proven the validity of the sale and purchase deed. Because in the authority of the land, the one who knows and has the authority is BPN," he added.

According to Junaedi, who is also always the defendant's attorney, stated that the client he accompanied had occupied the land since 2001 and had a legal basis through a sale and purchase deed published in 2006.

"Our client is not the party that suddenly occupies the land, there is a clear legal process. Therefore, we ask that there be no intervention before the court decides," he said.

His party rejected the proposed peace without clarity on the basis of ownership.

"When it comes to peace, what is peace like? With whom? Because ownership status alone is not clear," he said.

Tuti hopes that all law enforcement officers, both the police, BPN, and the court, can work professionally and objectively in handling the case.

"We believe the legal institution will decide this case fairly, based on valid evidence, not pressure from any party," he concluded.
