DKI APBD Cuts IDR 15 Trillion, Pramono To His Subordinates: Don't Complain

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung asked his subordinates not to complain about the budget efficiency policy after the transfer funds that included profit-sharing funds (DBH) from the central government to Jakarta were cut by Rp. 15 trillion.

According to Pramono, this budget reduction is a momentum to change the bureaucratic mindset of state civil servants (ASN) within the DKI Provincial Government to work more creatively and efficiently.

"I'm sure I can. I have announced, no one should complain about anyone in public spaces even though I cut the budget too," said Pramono at Grand Hyatt, Central Jakarta, Friday, October 10.

The DKI Provincial Government has actually planned the Jakarta APBD next year with a jumbo nominal amount of IDR 95.35 trillion.

From this plan, it is projected that transfer receipts in the form of profit-sharing funds (DBH), general allocation funds (DAU), and special allocation funds (DAK) from the central government in 2026 will reach Rp26 trillion.

However, recently the Ministry of Finance decided to reduce the transfer funds by Rp15 trillion to only Rp11 trillion. That way, next year's projected DKI APBD will have to be reduced to Rp79.06 trillion.

According to Pramono, reducing these funds is actually a challenge to build creativity within the DKI ASN. He wants local government officials not only to rely on the amount of the budget, but to innovate so that the program continues to run effectively.

"What is challenged from this event is creativity. Creativity. So ladies and gentlemen, if you want to see Jakarta better, hopefully in the next one year, in the middle of the year, Jakarta I am sure it will change. Some things that have been prepared to be built physically, but the most important thing that must be changed is the mentality," Pramono explained.

Pramono became one of dozens of governors who received a cut in transfer funds from the central government in the 2026 budget. From this condition, he concluded that Jakarta must begin to widen ways to increase regional income.

"I told the Minister of Finance, 'I won't complain a bit.' In the end, he even came to the office offering A, B, C and so on as a form of cooperation," he added.
