Kindergarten Teachers In Malang Trapped 24 Online Loans Up To Tens Of Million, After Being Terrorized, Now Fired

MALANG - Kindergarten teacher in Malang, East Java, with the initials S (40) was caught in 24 online loans. Now the debt has swelled to tens of millions.

This teacher owed her a loan in 2020 for tuition fees. He admitted that she really had to get a bachelor's certificate to teach at educational institutions.

"The beginning I borrowed online was because of the need to pay tuition fees at a university in Malang, amounting to IDR 2.5 million because the demands of the institution where I teach must have a bachelor's degree", she said, Tuesday, May 18.

She admitted that she borrowed money in several loans. However, when the payment was due, S could not pay off the debt. She then borrowed again from another loan to pay the previous bill.

This continued until the loan reached IDR 40 million in 24 loan applications.

She then told this incident to the school. The goal is to anticipate if there is a terror phone call coming to her coworkers.

"I hope that the school will not misunderstand if the terror actually happened", she said.

But this teacher was later fired. This condition makes her even more pinched.

"And the suffering of my life is getting heavier, so much so that I even thought about ending my life, if not for the support of family, friends who care", he said.

This teacher then met Slamet Yuono, a friend who is also a lawyer. From the search, most of the 24 online loans turned out to be illegal aka not registered with the OJK (The Financial Services Authority).

"The remaining 19 fintech companies are suspected of being illegal because they are not licensed or registered with the OJK", she said.

This teacher has reported the incident to the Investment Alert Task Force and the police.
