Allegedly Having An Affair With Someone's Wife, The Aide To The Regent Of Bima Was Reported To The Police

JAKARTA - A man with the initials MJ who is one of the aides to the Regent of Bima Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), and his affair with VR was reported on suspicion of adultery. MJ is suspected of having an affair with VR who is already married.

MJ and VR were reported by Andika through Imam Furqan's attorney. Imam said that initially Andika as a legitimate husband only wanted his wife VR and his mistress MJ apologized.

"The reporter hopes that in fact the reported parties with good ethics apologize to the victim and the victim's extended family," said Imam in a written statement, Thursday October

According to Imam, the affair allegedly occurred since 2025, before the inauguration of the Regent of Bima. At that time, it had circulated that MJ and VR had often met at one of the boarding houses in Bima City.

Until August 10, 2025, Andika, who was asked to take VR's cellphone at the place where the activist saw vulgar chats between his wife and MJ in Messenger.

"Vulgar and it is inappropriate where the reported parties explained that they had committed sexual acts several times," explained Imam.

Andika then reprimanded him carefully so that VR apologized and had the intention not to repeat this incident. However, this problem has long continued to the Bima Religious Court.

"The actions taken by the reported party actually filed a divorce lawsuit at the Bima Religious Court," said Imam.

Receiving this response, Andika reported his wife VR and her affair on suspicion of adultery as referred to in Article 284 of the Criminal Code to the Bima Resort Police (Polres) with a report numbered STTLP/554/VIII/2025/SPKT/Reskrim Res Bima/NTB, dated August 15, 2025.

Imam believes that the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Bima Police is committed to handling this problem because in terms of theory, no one is above the law.

"Until now, no persuasive efforts have been made, if the reported parties have good faith, then this report will never happen, the complainant hopes that this case will be followed up immediately according to procedures and professionals," he said.
